IAIN JOINS BRITISH EUROPA CUP SQUAD
Britain's brightest young skier has joined the British Men's Europa Cup Team squad for season 2018-19.
It's a sign of Iain Innes' growing stature that the 19-year-old British Champion has been invited to make the next step up.
The changes mean the end of a four year stint in France with Orsatus in order to continue his progression, with the ultimate aim of medalling at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
"The move to the Europa Cup team will see me part of a far smaller, focused set-up that I'm sure can only be good for my performances," Iain explains.
"Within a few days of committing to the team, I was on a flight to Munich, headed for Kaprun in Austria for a week's training, taking advantage of amazing late season conditions.
"My time at Orsatus has been fantastic and I will always value enormously the support I received from my coaches there, particularly Alex, JB, Greg and Gaby."
Since returning home in mid-April, Iain enjoyed participation in four races at Nevis Range, Fort William and Cairngorm Mountain, Aviemore, both in the Scottish Highlands.
Iain netted a season personal best (PB) in conditions that he said, "Couldn't have been much better for the time of year."
Iain will spend May back home in Scotland, with an intense strength and conditioning programme, before he heads back to the alps in June.
